How To Cook Green Bananas Easy Way

For Utumbo


1 kg or 1 and half kg utumbo {well washed and cut into pieces as seen in my video}
1 teaspoon salt or to taste
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon garlic paste

A} Wash it nicely and cut it into pieces
B} Put them in a large pot or pressure cooker; now add salt, ginger, garlic and enough water
C} Boil it until is soft / tender {this can take up to 1 hour or more if you are using a require pot}
D] Once done set aside

For Banana
15 to 20 pieces of green fig or cooking bananas {green hard bananas peeled, slice them in the middle by making those pieces and if you want you can bisected in the middle}
1 – 2 cups water {you may need more or less depending on the bananas}
Boiled utumbo {make sure it is tender enough, do this beforehand}
1 teaspoon salt or to taste
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon curry powder
3 to 4 tablespoons coconut power or to taste and 3/4 cup hot broth or hot water for dissolving coconut powder}
1 onions, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 or 1 and 1/2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 rosemary leaf (optional)
2 -3 tablespoons of cooking oil


A} Peel your bananas first, cut them into pieces and put them in the dish of water until you finish peeling all the bananas. Wash them nicely
B} Fry onions in a deep pot until light brown, then add in ginger and garlic paste. Stir well.
C} Add in all spices , salt and stir for about 1 minute on low to medium heat. Now stir in tomato puree
D] Add peeled and cleaned bananas, stir together, then add boiled utumbo as seen in the video.
E} Dissolve coconut powder in a cup or bowl, then add in the banana a pot.
F} Add enough water, rosemary leaf and cover the bananas. Bring to boil
G} Allow to cook for about 10- 15 minutes or until they are well cooked, but make sure to stir frequently to avoid burning them
H} Cover and simmer if it is necessary for about 2 to 5 minutes or until the bananas are tender
