Quick And Easy Fried Breadfruit Recipe

There are many ways to cook breadfruit. Breadfruit is very easy to cook and the easiest way and tastiest way is fried. It could also be eaten boiled with meat or seafood and sometime people cook breadfruit with coconut milk




500 breadfruit

Or use the ingredients down below:

1 tablespoon Chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon black powder
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3/4 teaspoon Salt or to taste


A} Wash the breadfruit {shelisheli} first
B} Peel it as it was a potato
C} Once you are done doing that, then cut into halves, then cut again into quarters {you will have 4 pieces at this point}. Finally cut 3 pieces from each quarter or
Cut them into thin slices of less than 0.7 cm thickness.
D} Now remove and dispose the core {the brown thing in the middle}
E} Clean all the pieces with clean water and drain / discard the water from the container

G] Marinate for about 6 hour or overnight or the whole day, store them in airtight container and put them in the fridge
H} Heat oil in deep pan on the stove and add enough cooking oil until hot {as seen in the video}
I} Working in batches, deep fry each side on medium heat for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and flip them on the other side
J} Remove them from the pan and put them in a strainer to remove the excess oil
K} Serve with sauce of your choice
