1 Cup dried green peas
1 Big Onion
1 Medium Tomato
1 Tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
2 Green chilies
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon Chilli powder or to taste
1 Teaspoon Coriander powder
1/2 Teaspoon Meat masala powder
1/2 Teaspoon Garam masala powder
3/4 Cup Thin coconut milk
1/2 Cup Thick coconut milk
1/2Teaspoon Mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon Curry leaves to taste
A} Soak green peas in water overnight.
B} Pressure cook it by adding salt and enough water.C} Heat oil in a pan.
D} Splutter mustard. Sauté curry leaves, finely chopped onion and green chillies.
E} Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté well till the onion become light brown colour.
F} Add sliced tomato and cook it till it become mushy.
G} Add all spice powders and sauté well for 2-3 minutes on low flames. You can add 2-3 tbsp of water in this stage.
H} Add well cooked green peas and mix it.
I} Pour thin coconut milk and boil it for 5 minutes.
J} Reduce the flame and add thick coconut milk. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
K} Adjust the salt.
L} Serve with chapti, naan, maandazi etc.
