Simple white Loaf Of Bread Homemade Recipe


makes a loaf

400g Strong Flour
20g Butter
Pinch of Salt
Pinch of sugar
17.5 grams Yeast
275ml water
Egg wash
Poppy seeds
Sesame seeds


A} Sieve the flour and salt
B} Dissolve the yeast & butter in the warm liquid
C} Make a well in centre of the flour, add dissolved yeast
D} Knead firmly until smooth and free from stickiness
E} Return to bowl and cover with a cloth
F} Leave in a warm place, allow to warm & double in size
G} Knock back
H} Divide into equal pieces
I} Mould into desired shapes
J} Place on floured baking sheets
K} Brush carefully with egg wash or topping and top with topping of your choice
L} Leave in a warm place to prove (double in size)
M} Bake in hot oven (220 C) approximately 10 minutes depending on size

Various topping & filling; cheese, herbs, seeds, nuts, vegetables, glazes etc
