Ingredients
100gm to agar agar strips of packet china grass {If you got big pack then chop it as seen in the video}
2 cups whole milk
1/2 to 3/4cup water
12 to 14 level tablespoons sugar or to taste
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/4 teaspoon pink food colouring {you can use any of your favourite colour}
Method
A} Open the pack of agar agar strips and chop up about 100gm of agar agar strips as finely as seen in the video, you can using a scissor or sharp knife. Wrap up the rest and keep it for the future use
B} Put it into a small mixing bowl or pan and add 1/2 to 3/4 of cup water. Sock it over night or at least 6 hours. This method is going to help your falooda to have good texture and is going to be smoother.
C} Put it in a pot and bring to boil while stirring until most of the china grass or agar agar strips is dissolved. This will take about 3 minutes.
D} Now add the whole milk, sugar, vanilla and food colouring. Bring to boil over medium low heat while stirring. Once the milk begins to steam keep on stirring for another 3-4 minutes. You will not notice thickening at this stage as this dessert thickens slowly with time so do not worry if it seems like nothing has changed with the milk’s consistency.
E} Taste and adjust the sugar if needed. Turn off the heat and gently pour equal amounts of the falooda into 4 or 5 dessert glasses or bowls.
F} Let them sit for a few minutes to cool for about 10 minutes or until is at room temperature, cover the bowls and refrigerate for at least 4 to 6 hours or preferably overnight. You will notice that the falooda dessert will have a soft set texture after being refrigerated for that long. You can easily keep this dessert for up to 2 days refrigerated. Serve chilled.
Enjoy!
