Milk Powder Barfi With Pistachio

Jinsi Ya Kutengeneza Barfi Za Maziwa Na karanga

2 and 1/2 cups full fat milk powder {Niño}
2 and 1/5 cups sugar
3 cups water
4 tablespoons cooking oil
1/2 cup pistachio
2 tablespoons vanilla essence
1 teaspoon food colour green or to taste


A}Grease the tray and set aside
B}In a In a skillet add in water and sugar, let it boil for few minute 8 to 10 minutes
D} Add in vanilla and followed by cooking oil. Continue to cook until the water turns to syrup. Check if the water is sticky as seen in the video
E} Stir in pistachio
G} keeping the flame on low add in the milk powder
H} Mix well making sure everything is well combined
I} Stir continuously keeping the flame on low and no lumps formed, try your best not to burn the burfi
J} Now keep stirring keeping the flame on low until milk thickens. Don’t leave it to long otherwise it will get solid
K} Transfer or scoop mixture into prepared or greased tray and spread it very quickly
L} Smooth top nicely with the back of a spoon or anything that will do the job properly. This is going to make your barfi look neat {as seen in the video}. Do this fast before it gets sold
M} Cut it into diamond shapes {pieces} like kashata while still hot
N} Let rest for a few minutes and allow it to cool
O} Transfer them on the serving dish and store in airtight container
P} Serve with hot drink or you can just have on its own
